What is the MESH(+) Seal

MESH(+) Seal Program Overview
At a time when young people and adults are all longing to be seen, feel heard, and sense authentic connection, ACH is exploring the best ways to elevate care for healthier communities. The MESH(+) Seal helps us reach that goal by creating an opportunity for you to examine your program through a comprehensive well-being lens.

The MESH(+) Seal program recognizes camps and programs that intentionally evaluate and integrate Mental, Emotional, Environmental, Social and Spiritual Health(+) throughout their operations. MESH(+) Seal programs consciously incorporate practices and strategies that enhance mental health, emotional resilience, social development, and overall well-being in meaningful ways.

A Process of Discovery and Growth
The MESH(+) Seal application process serves as a valuable analysis and reflection framework as you develop your program's comprehensive approach to camper and staff well-being. Through documenting your current practices and reflecting on the MESH(+) Seal specific required elements, you'll gain insights into opportunities for integrating well-being practices into existing programming, identifying staff training opportunities, and establishing evaluation tools.
This process helps you consider how your program supports the whole camper while also examining how the working environment and experience of working at camp can increase in quality for your staff.

The Four Pillars of MESH(+)
The MESH(+) Seal evaluates programs across four health-related pillars:
1. Summer Program Design: Your activities integrate mental, emotional, and social health principles into every aspect of the camp experience, from daily schedules to special events.
2. Staff Training: Your team receives specialized preparation in recognizing youth mental health needs, implementing evidence-based practices, and creating positive environments for all campers.
3. Health Screening and Intake: You maintain comprehensive processes that identify individual camper needs and strengths, allowing for personalized approaches to support and growth.
4. Medication and Care Measures: Your protocols extend beyond traditional camp health services to include ongoing support systems that respond to both community and individual needs.
